Desk size for 10' x 10' study?

I got a project at home where I'm converting a small entertainment room into a study. The room is about 10' x 10', and I'm thinking of getting a custom desk but I'm not sure which size to get. Aside from ergonomics, another big consideration is to of course not to make the room feel so cramped.

Does anyone here know the best dimensions for a desk that will be functional for a laptop, writing space, and some books, but won't overwhelm the room? Any advice on a minimal yet functional size would be greatly appreciated!

The thing that you'll need to understand is that not all of us sit the same and we're different sizes. For example, I'm the kind of person that likes to stretch my legs, so I'd be looking for a deeper desk. In general, I think a 50 inch wide desk should be fine and for the depth I wouldn't go below 30.

Do you want the desk to be a single straight piece against the wall, or are you open to an L-shape in a corner?
