Do You Tip Your Furniture Delivery Folks?

Q,Q that's been on my mind.

Just had a couple of recliners delivered (they're beautiful, solidly built, and surprisingly comfortable!). The guys who brought them in were careful, polite, and even took time to make sure everything was level before leaving.

I gave them each a $10 tip, but it got me thinking — is that still the norm? Do y'all usually tip furniture delivery folks? And if so, how much?

I always appreciate a job done right, especially when heavy lifting and tight corners are involved. Curious how others handle it.

I hired two brothers who run a local moving company to move some furniture around the house. It was a pricey service, to which I was happy to pay. I did tip a few extra dollars, even though etiquette states that if they own the company, you do not have to tip.

I think you did the right thing - I've never heard anyone who could afford to tip regret it.

Yeah, I usually tip if they go above and beyond, like those guys did...I mean a $10 tip is not too bad, but some folks go higher depending on the service. I'd say $20 isn't uncommon for good delivery

I don't usually tip for furniture delivery honestly. I figure it's part of the job, but I get why others do it if the service was extra good

This is what I do. it all depends on the service they provided and if you can see they're extra careful with the furnitures and they're very knowledgeable

Yeah right, I mean if they're going the extra mile, being careful with the furniture, and really know their stuff, a solid tip feels well-earned

Yeah, I usually tip if they go above and beyond. It's basic courtesy for me but at the same time I believe they should also provide me with the best service they can, otherwise the tip wouldn't be quite generous.

yes! they've worked so hard, I always give them some tip, 10-20 bucks each is enough. I also gave them snacks, coffee, and water, the last time I move
