New to this forum although I'm familiar with the "fora" concept, use if for cars and audio/video (other fora).
I am not into carpentry but I have a project for which I want to consult people with experience in carpentry.
The Project:
Enlarge a round (circular) table so that the extension can be easily mounted and dismantled and stored in a limited space when not in use. When mounted, the whole table will be covered with a table-cloth so I don't care about the material of the extension.
Diameter of my table now is 130cm/51" and I want the extended table to be at least 183cm/72" and better still, 200cm/79" (diameter).
My idea is to:
Because I am inexperienced, I'm concerned about unexpected things such as tolerances (will it fit to the existing circular table) or height inconsistencies (perhaps the size is too big), snags with the connectors and also, what material is best for the board of such extension. Does it make sense at all?

- have an "Annulus" (a doughnut shape) cut from 12mm/0.5" MDF or another wood-like board with an internal radius (not diameter) of he "hole" - 65cm/25.6" and an outer radius of 100cm/39" – cut into quarters - see the screenshot below
- It seems that this shape can be ordered on-line from services such as "cutmy.co.uk".
- attach 2 adjustable foldable legs to each quarter (easily bought on-line);
- to connect the quarters of the doughnut to each other, have either (i) two-three spring-loaded toggle-latches to connect the quarters to each-other from below; OR (ii) metal pegs with drilling into the side of the board.
