Need layout advice for awkward corner fireplace setup

We just scored a fixer-upper from the 90s and are finally diving into updating the main living area. It's designed in an open-concept style, featuring a corner fireplace, which has been throwing off my usual sense of balance

We're planning to put the TV on the adjacent wall, but not above the fireplace. We've found two leather recliners (shocking how comfy these Craigslist treasures are) and we're keeping a fabric couch. The plan is to set the recliners with their backs toward the kitchen and have the couch facing the windows. I might throw in a couple of light accent chairs by the front windows for some symmetry

I'm aiming for a clean, transitional vibe, sticking to neutrals and layered textures, but avoiding anything too trendy. I'd really appreciate any layout advice if you've tackled a similar space

Good plan! Putting the TV next to the fireplace instead of above it is smart, and having the recliners face away from the kitchen helps create a cozy zone. The couch facing the windows will keep things bright and open, and adding a couple of accent chairs will balance the room.. Sticking to neutrals and layered textures is a great way to keep it fresh without going trendy . Have you figured out your lighting setup yet?

Your layout sounds solid. Having the backs to the kitchen really helps create a natural separation. With that corner fireplace, try angling one recliner slightly toward it to highlight it as a focal point. A big area rug will definitely help anchor the seating area and soften those hardwood floors from the '90s. Also, placing a console table behind the couch could really help connect the space nicely.
