Seeking recommendations for a quality chesterfield any tips?

I just moved into an older townhouse that really has that classic charm, and I think a leather Chesterfield would be the perfect addition to my living room. The only issue? I've never owned one, and I want to make sure I'm not spending a lot of money on something that looks great but won't last

If any of you have bought a Chesterfield recently or even a while back and have some advice on which brands are reliable (or ones to steer clear of), I'd really love to hear your thoughts. I'm also interested in how well they hold up with everyday use. Thanks so much for your help

Here's a story which I think you'll find useful. My cousin was looking for a chesterfield sofa and since he was cheap about it, he got some cheap one from some low-tiered company. The sofa arrived and was good for the first few months and after that he understood why it was cheap. The material and build quality were a disaster. He then ordered one from Smith Brothers and hasn't complained about it since. The moral of the story is, go for reputable brands, preferably ones with real reviews and positive experience.

I've had mine for a few years now, picked it up secondhand actually and it's been good enough throughout, the key really is the leather quality and the frame, if it's hardwood and the leather is top grain, you're very much golden, but those overly shiny ones with thin arms, nahhh...
